What is European Solidarity Corps?

The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is a European Union initiative aimed at meeting societal needs, creating opportunities for young people to volunteer, work or network in projects that benefit society in their home country or abroad, while promoting their personal, educational, social, civic and professional development. It aims to bring young people together to build a more inclusive society, support vulnerable people and respond to societal challenges.

The program provides an inspiring and empowering experience for young people who want to help, learn and improve. The program adds
value to the existing Volunteering program under Erasmus+ and other EU funding programs, formerly known as European Voluntary Service. The European Solidarity Corps was established by Regulation 2018/1475 of the European Parliament and of the Council and in Türkiye, Turkish National Agency is the regulating body.

At the end of the project, all participants will be given a European Solidarity Corps participation certificate issued by the host organization, through the European Solidarity Corps Portal. Every young person participating in European Solidarity Corps projects, can benefit from a certificate that identifies and documents their individual learning outcomes through EU-level recognition tools such as Youthpass. Organizations are obliged to issue a Youthpass certificate to each requesting participant at the end of the activity. The Youthpass website  contains information about the scope of Youthpass and how to obtain a certificate. It is important that the participant, as well as the supporting and host organizations, are familiar with the information provided.
